The Pomurje museum Murska Sobota is hosting the exhibition of Synagogue Maribor “Here Is Where Death Worked Itself to Death…”: the Slovenian victims of Auschwitz. It will be on display from 6 February 2024 to 4 April 2024.

The exhibition tells about approximately 2,300 people from Slovenia who were taken to this camp. The majority were Slovenians, but among those deported there were also around 350 Jews, at least 78 Roma and at least one member of Jehovah’s Witnesses. For around 1,300 of them, Auschwitz is the place of death.

At the closing of the exhibition, on Thursday, 4 April 2024, at 5 p.m., we invite you to a lecture by Boris Hajdinjak: Slovenian and Prekmurska victims of Auschwitz. The lecture will be held in the baroque salon of the Pomurje museum Murska Sobota.
