Priča o dvama transportima. Međimurski i prekmurski Židovi tijekom Holokausta (A story of two transports. Jews in Međimurje and Prekmurje during the Holocaust), opening of a travelling documentary exhibition by the Center of Jewish Cultural Heritage Synagogue Maribor.
Under the auspices of the international project Never Forget, the exhibition A story of two transports. Jews in Međimurje and Prekmurje during the Holocaust was prepared in 2023, revealing the fate of Jews from both regions during the Holocaust. The lives of Jews in these two regions have been closely intertwined since their settlement in the 18th century, and they are also connected by a common tragic fate: in 1944, Jews from both Prekmurje and Međimurje were taken to Auschwitz, and most of them were killed immediately upon arrival. On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz, a Croatian-English version of the original exhibition was prepared, which will be on display in the multimedia hall of the Museum of Intangible Heritage “Treasury of Međimurje” in Čakovec. The author of the exhibition is Boris Hajdinjak, director of the Center of Jewish Cultural Heritage Synagogue Maribor. The Croatian version of the exhibition was prepared by the Jewish Community of Čakovec with the support of the Museum of Međimurje Čakovec, the city of Čakovec and the Međimurje County.
