Drawings and Paintings by Terezin Artists from the Moreshet Collection (exhibition of the Moreshet Holocaust and Research Center from Givat Haviva) and Theresienstadt: A Town As-If (exhibition of the Center of Jewish Cultural Heritage Synagogue Maribor), opening of travelling documentary exhibitions. The exhibitions will be on display from 30 January 30 to 31 March 2025.

The exhibition Drawings and Paintings by Terezin Artists from the Moreshet Collection presents a selection of works by three artists who were interned in the Terezin ghetto during World War II: Leo Haas, Bedřich Fritte and Joseph (Joa) Eduard Adolf Spier. Their works are a unique but credible testimony to real life in the Terezin ghetto, which the Nazis tried to portray as a “model ghetto” in order to conceal the brutal oppression of the 34,000 prisoners who were killed there and almost 87,000 people who were sent from there to extermination camps. For the premiere Slovenian presentation of the Morešet Memorial Center exhibition in January 2024 in Maribor, an accompanying exhibition, Theresienstadt: A Town As-If, by Boris Hajdinjak, director of the Center of Jewish Cultural Heritage Synagogue Maribor, was also prepared, which places the original exhibition in a broader context.
