We invite you to the opening of the traveling exhibition The Book heritage of the pre-war Prekmurje Neological Jewish community: prayer books and ritual books and their owners.

In 2021, the Murska Sobota Regional and Study Library implemented a cataloging project of Jewish books that were kept in the library’s depot or were given as a gift during the implementation of the project. The books are a valuable legacy of the local and regional Jewish community before the Second World War, as most of them were published between 1836 and 1942, and some even before 1835. The books are now part of the new Jewish collection of the Murska Sobota Regional and Study Library.

We will open the exhibition on Wednesday, 14th of September 2022, in the Murska Sobota Regional and Study Library at 6:00 p.m. The exhibition will be presented by its authors Maja Kutin and Boris Hajdinjak.
