Cultural institutions in the area of ​​Židovska Street – GT22, Center of Jewish Cultural Heritage Synagogue Maribor, Fotoklub Maribor and Fotogalerija Stolp, Society of Fine Artists Maribor and Gallery DLUM and Youth Cultural Center Maribor and Gallery Media Nox – connected to the initiative Cultural Quarter Židovska, wanted you to invite you to the “most beautiful balcony of our city” as part of the all-Slovenian Summer Museum Night.

On Saturday, June 17, we planned a Summer Evening at Židovska, as part of which we planned to open the doors between 6 p.m. and midnight and invite you to an evening-night tour of our current exhibitions.

However, we have decided to follow some Maribor organizations and CANCEL the event as a sign of solidarity with Maribor non-governmental organizations in the field of culture, which will not be able to carry out the already planned programs due to reduced municipal funding, which represents an additional blow with all the price increases.

We apologize to the organizers of the Summer Museum Night, which has been attracting visitors of all ages to museums and galleries since 2003 on a June evening. We hope for understanding, support and cooperation again in 2024.

We hope that this will be more favourable to the culture of Maribor, because with the reduction of funds for culture, not only cultural organizations are disadvantaged. The citizens and visitors of Maribor will be left without quality content.
