The Center of Jewish Cultural Heritage Synagogue Maribor, Belana Cirkulane Public Institute, and the Society for the Revival of Borl Castle are cordially inviting to a lecture by Boris HajdinjakAuschwitz Victims from Slovenia and Borl”.

The lecture, which will accompany the exhibition “Here Is Where Death Worked Itself to Death…”: Slovenian victims of Auschwitz, will be held on Tuesday, 30 June 2026, at 7 pm at Borl Castle.

During World War II, around 2,600 people from Slovenia were taken to Auschwitz. Most of them were political prisoners, but among the deportees were also around 350 Jews, at least 78 Roma and at least three members of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Their memory has been honored in 2020 with the exhibition “Here Is Where Death Worked Itself to Death…”: Slovenian victims of Auschwitz. The author of the exhibition is Boris Hajdinjak, direktor Sinagoge Maribor.
