Marpurgi: between history and literary freedom, hosting a documentary exhibition of the Maribor Synagogue Maribor and the Maribor Library in the Piran City Library.

In 2019, the Beletrina publishing house published the fourth reprint of the novel Marpurgi by Zlata Vokač Medic, and the Synagogue Maribor and the Maribor Library prepared an extensive documentary exhibition entitled Marpurgi: Between History and Literary Freedom. The exhibition consists of two parts: the first presents the work and life of Zlata Vokač Medic, and the second brings a wealth of information about the city of Maribor in the 14th and 15th centuries, with special emphasis on the fate of Maribor’s medieval Jewish community. The authors of the exhibition are Klemen Brvar and Boris Hajdinjak.

At the end of the exhibition, on Tuesday, 1st of March, at 18:00, Boris Hajdinjak will give a lecture in the library entitled Jews in Piran. You are cordially invited!
