As part of the European Heritage Days, the Center of Jewish Cultural Heritage Synagogue Maribor traditionally opens its doors and offers visitors a free tour of the former medieval Jewish synagogue in Maribor and current exhibitions in it.

The Synagogue Maribor is the only preserved medieval synagogue in Slovenia, as well as one of the oldest preserved synagogues in Central Europe. During the DEKD, visitors to the Synagogue Maribor will also be able to see the exhibition “Depictions of the Jewish Quarter. Works of Art from the Collection of the Maribor Art Gallery” and Lana Soklič’s photography exhibition entitled “Alienated Domesticity”. Visiting the Synagogue Maribor will be possible from Monday to Friday between 8 am and 4 pm and on Saturdays, 23 September, 30 September and 7 October 2023, between 10 am and 2 pm.
