The CJCH Synagogue Maribor cordially invites to the presentation of the book DINING WITH PREKMURJE JEWS – A COOKBOOK AFTER SCRIPTURE (Za mizo s prekmurskimi Židi – kuharica po svetopisemskih pravilih) by the author Bojan Zadravec on Thursday, 23 October 2014, at 6 p.m. at Židovska ulica 4, Maribor.

All the recipes in the book have been part of the cooking repertoire of the Prekmurje Jewesses until the outbreak of World War II. This cookbook is the first of its kind in Slovenian language, offering an insight into the food traditions of the Prekmurje Jews before World War II. Moreover, the book describes the contemporary culinary art of descendents of the pre-war Jewish community in the Prekmurje Region of Slovenia, who are now living in Israel and the USA.

The book presentation includes a conversation with the book author conducted by Petra Bauman, and cultural programme with members of the International Christian Embassy Jerusalem lead by Marcos Tavares.
