Holocaust Education 2023

We cordially invite you to a webinar for educators, where we will present both innovations in the field of teaching and learning about the Holocaust, including professional materials and tools, as well as some examples of good practices.

The seminar will be held on Friday, 20th of January 2023, at 1:30 p.m.. The seminar will last approximately 120 minutes and will take place in the Microsoft Teams web application.

Program of the meeting:
• Opening greeting (Marjetka Bedrač, Center of Jewish Cultural Heritage Synagogue Maribor)
• Recommendations for teaching and learning about the Holocaust by the IHRA (Marjetka Bedrač)
• On the distortion of the Holocaust and on seminars in 2023 (Mémorial de la Shoah) (Vojko Kunaver, Institute RS for education)
• Use of the Centropa website in teaching and learning about the Holocaust (Damjan Snoj, Elementary School Marije Faith, Kamnik)
• Teaching about the Holocaust in the curriculum of the Starše Elementary School (Leonida Babič, Starše Elementary School)
• Crokus project at Štore Elementary School in the 2021/22 and 2022/23 school years (Barbara Žlender, Štore Elementary School)
• Historical excursion “Slovenian Jews and the Holocaust” as an example of learning about the Holocaust (Renato Flis, Maribor High School of Design)
