Viewing the exhibition during the festival

The Jazz ‘ma mlade festival returns to the Židovski Square.

The Jazz ‘ma mlade 2022 music festival will take place on the first three Fridays in June in the Židovska Cultural Quarter, and part of the accompanying program will also take place in the Synagogue Maribor.

In addition to the music program, in cooperation with the surrounding galleries and venues: Synagogue Maribor, Media Nox Gallery, DLUM Gallery, Stolp Photo Gallery and GT22, there will be a rich accompanying program with exhibition openings and extended gallery opening hours, synagogue screenings and local wine and street food tastings, prepared especially for the festival by students of VSGT Maribor.

On all three festival Fridays, 3rd, 10th and 17th of June, between 19:00 and 22:00, it will be possible to view the current exhibition at the Synagogue Maribor entitled “Lady Bluetooth – Hedy Lamarr” free of charge.

Hedy Lamarr was one of the most beautiful and most admired actresses of the golden age of Hollywood. The famous actress, who was born in Vienna of Jewish descent, was also known to the public for many scandals in her private life, but few people knew that she was also an exceptional inventor. Among other things, she and composer George Antheil designed the frequency hopping system, which is the technical forerunner of today’s wireless technologies.
