Within the “European Heritage Days 2021” project, which is this year in Slovenia dedicated to the topic “Bon Appetit!”, you are cordially invited to two lectures that will be performed by Maja Kutin. The focus of both lectures will be on Jewish cuisine in the past and today, and on food consummated on Jewish festivals and high holidays.
On Thursday, 7 October at 18:00 will Maja Kutin in a lecture titled “Jewish Festive Table: on Shabbath and Other Feasts” present the festive food. The lecture will be held at Rotovž Ceremonial Hall (Rotovški trg 1, Maribor).
As in other cultures, the festively set table has an important symbolic meaning also in Judaism. The lecturer will tell us what food Jews eat on the Shabbath and other Jewish holidays and why.
The lecture is being organised as part of the “European Days of Jewish Culture 2021” and “European Heritage Days 2021” projects. The organisation of the event has been supported by the Municipality of Maribor.
