Scrolls of Fire
4. June 2019, at 18:00
Dan Reisinger (born in 1934 in Kanjiža in today’s Serbia) set up a series of works called “Scrolls of Fire” in 1979 as a graphic representation of the verses of the famous Israeli poet Abba Kovner. Kovner’s poetry and Reisinger’s works thus form a subtle whole, with which the creators remind us of the unfortunate fate of the Jewish nation in different places and periods. The exhibition was already set up in various museums and galleries around the world, and today it is part of the permanent exhibition at the Synagogue of Lendava.
The author and his work will be presented by Dubravko Baumgarten, Director of the Gallery-Museum Lendava, who will also open the exhibition at the same time. The cultural program will feature the harpist Aleksandra Mohorka under the mentorship of prof. Dalibor Bernatović. The event will be held in Slovene language. The exhibition can be seen in the regular opening hours of the Synagogue Maribor, and on every Friday in June untill 22:00.
