Anne Frank 1929 – 2019

90th anniversary of Anne Frank's birth

1929 - 2019

The diary of Anne Frank (12th June 1929, Frankfurt am Main – February / March 1945, Bergen-Belsen), the most famous writer about the Holocaust, has been translated into more than 60 languages and printed in over 30 million copies in total. Thirteen reprints of the Slovenian translation of the diary, first in 1957 and the last in 2019, confirm that Anne’s diary remains one of the  most read books in Slovenia.

If Anne Frank survived the war, she would have celebrated her ninetieth birthday on 12th of June 2019. But her life ended before she was sixteen years old. In her memory, on the day of her ninetieth birthday, a special broadcast was released on Val 202 https://val202.rtvslo.si/…/06/ziveti-hocem-tudi-se-po-smrti/.
