The European Days of Jewish Culture (EDJK) is a pan-European project that, for the twentieth year in a row, offers visitors an in-depth insight into individual aspects of Jewish culture and heritage.
Organizers from all over Europe participate in the project every year, for example EDJC events last year were held in more than 400 cities in 28 European countries. This year we are celebrating the 20th anniversary of the project, and on this occasion we have prepared a diverse program for you: open doors days, professional guided tours of exhibitions and museums, openings of several exhibitions, theater performances, concerts of Jewish music, presentations and interactive workshops. The aim is to enable visitors to learn about the beauty and richness of Jewish culture and to promote their awareness of the importance of preserving and protecting Jewish heritage as an important part of Europe’s cultural heritage.
The events will take place in Maribor, Ljubljana, Negova, Lendava and Murska Sobota from 25 August to 18 September.
Visiting and viewing of all events, except for the theater performances “Helmand Legend – Full Moon” and “Esther or Holiday of Destities”, are free of charge.
