The Merry Day of Culture 2017

Open doors day, guided tours, film projection

3 December 2017, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.

Once again the Maribor Synagogue joins the all-Slovenian project “The Merry Day of Culture”. This project is traditionally organized on 3 December – the birthday of one of the greatest Slovenian poets France Prešeren.

Visitors to Maribor Synagogue are cordially invited to visit us on Sunday, 3 December 2017, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. On this day, we will organize an open doors day providing free entrance to former synagogue and temporary exhibition of selected works by Ciril Horjak – dr. Horowitz. Ciril Horjak is one of most prominent contemporary illustrators and caricaturist in Slovenia.

At 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. we will organize also guided tours of the synagogue with the projections of short informative film on the history of former synagogue. At 12 a.m. a projection of the film “Marpurgi” (2012, director Boris Jurjaševič, production Casablanca) will follow respectively.

The project “The Merry Day of Culture” is organized under patronage of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Slovenia. List of events throughout Slovenia
