International art exhibition

21. 6. - 24. 8. 2012, opening on 21. 6. 2012 at 18.00

The opening of the exhibition “Images of the Maribor Synagogue” shall conclude the international fine arts competition “Images of the Maribor Synagogue” that was conceived as part of celebrating the decennial of the cultural centre Maribor Synagogue.

Presenting their artistic interpretation of the former medieval synagogue in Maribor shall be: Cvetka Hojnik, Gregor Pratneker, Irena Gajser, and Milena Pavlin Houška (Slovenia), Mario Alimede (Italy), Christine Kertz and Johanna G. Löffler (Austria), Ivan Mesek and Plamenko Čengić (Croatia), Doris Klepper, Hans-Joachim Uthke, Heidi Luft, Hildegard Skirde, Ingetraut D. Stein, Kirsten Claudia Graf, Karin Dörre, Karin Finke, and Razeea Lindner (Germany).

The official speaker at the opening of the exhibition shall be Igor Vojtic, PhD, member of the administrative committee of the Jewish Community of Slovenia. The festive event will be accompanied by a cultural programme performed by the harpist, Astrid Ana Kljun.
